The University of Mary’s Speech-Language Clinic

The University of Mary’s Speech-Language Clinic offers services free of charge to individuals in need who are uninsured or underinsured. The clinic serves a range of populations from birth to adulthood.

The Speech-Language Clinic is part of the speech-language pathology program. Services are provided by graduate students under the supervision of Speech-Language Pathology faculty who are certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensed by the North Dakota State Board of Examiners: Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.

Our clinic provides evaluation and treatment for the following:

  • Accent management
  • Cognitive communication
  • Communication needs related to neurogenic conditions, such as Parkinson's disease, dementia, and stroke
  • Communication needs requiring assistive technology
  • Communication needs related to autism
  • Feeding and swallowing
  • Stuttering
  • Language
  • SPEAK OUT! & The LOUD Crowd, a program developed by Parkinson Voice Project, which targets improved communication skills for individuals with Parkinson’s
  • Speech sound disorders
  • Voice and resonance disorders

Location

The University of Mary’s Speech-Language Clinic is located in the School of Health Sciences on the university’s main campus in Bismarck, ND. The School of Health Sciences is located in the center of campus. Visitors can use the north entrance to campus, follow the main road, and enter the parking lot west of the fieldhouse. Enter the main doors of the Clairmont Center for Performing Arts by the flagpole and take the hallway to the west. The School of Health Sciences is at the end of the hallway to the left.
