Military Services at the University of Mary

We truly appreciate the sacrifice you and your families have made through your military service. Regardless of your military status – veteran, reserve, National Guard, or active duty – the University of Mary is ready to serve you.

At Mary, we provide service members and veterans the opportunity to earn a bachelor’s or master’s degree that will benefit you with promotion boards (if you are currently serving), and in future career opportunities as civilians. Whether you are a student on our main campus, an evening program, or online, Mary's accredited programs recognize that military and veteran students have the discipline, experience and ability to be successful.

The University of Mary is Military-Friendly

Our commitment to service members, veterans, and their families has been recognized by national publications including Military Advanced Education and Military Friendly Schools. At Mary, you will never be treated like a number. We have experienced faculty and staff who will help you be successful.

  • Flexible schedules (deployments, FTX’s, state active duty)
We offer programs that are adaptable for military students whose assignments and duties require changes in schedule. This means the university can accommodate deployments, tours, training exercises, state active duty, and transfers between duty stations. For example, on-site students can move to the online delivery system upon deployment; online students can work toward their degree anywhere internet access is available. If a deployment causes a student to discontinue a program, they can withdraw without penalty and resume study at a later date.
  • Your military experience or previous college credit counts!
We can help you transfer credits for academic programs from regionally accredited colleges and universities and earn credit for military training and experience (or life experience). We'll make sure you are on the most direct path to your bachelor’s degree or master’s degree. Contact us today to see how your experience may transfer in for credit at the University of Mary. (Army, Navy, Coast Guard, and Marine Corps can access their Joint Services Transcript here, while Air Force service members should contact CCAF.)
  • Veterans Education Benefits including Yellow Ribbon
Our programs are approved for veteran's education benefits, and we have a dedicated team in the Office of Military Student Services to ensure that you can access the education benefits you have earned.

The Johnny Isakson and David P. Roe, MD Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2020 requires educational institutions to make certain disclosures to students using federal military and/or VA educational benefits. You can access a personalized data sheet by visiting the University of Mary Net Price Calculator.

Additional financial information can be found at the NCES College Navigator site by entering University of Mary in the box labeled “Name of School”.  University of Mary students planning to use either federal military and/or VA educational benefits that have been accepted for admission into an eligible, degree-granting program, may view their personalized college financing plan by logging into the UMary Financial Aid Portal using their university credentials.

Military Scholarship

Beyond your military education benefits, the University of Mary offers scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students. Call or email us to find out more!

I was able to successfully achieve my degree through University of Mary Online all the while serving as a husband, a father of two teenagers, accepting a new supervisory position at work, helping my wife run her small business, and serving as a part-time member in the National Guard.

Certainly, if I can accomplish this significant lifelong learning goal, you can too! Although it wasn't easy, it was possible thanks to the tremendous support from the University of Mary faculty and staff.
