Cappella Celebrates Its First Album-Length Recording

The University of Mary’s nationally renowned chapel choir has released its first-ever full-length album, “Abide in Me: Eucharistic Music for Revival.” The recording is the culmination of three years of work, inspired by the potential of sacred music to kindle renewed devotion to the Real Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist.

Music Ancient and New

“Abide in Me” includes chant, antiphons, hymns, and polyphony from throughout Church history — but the lead track, entitled “Ecce Panis” (Behold the Bread), is an original composition written by Dr. Rebecca Raber, Cappella’s director, with input from the student-musicians. Cappella premiered the piece on September 7, 2025, in honor of the canonization of Saint Carlo Acutis in Rome earlier that same day.

Cappella, the University of Mary's renowned chapel choir, performs "Ecce Panis" (Behold the Bread), an original composition written in honor of the canonization of Saint Carlo Acutis by Cappella Director Dr. Rebecca Raber.

Dr. Rebecca Raber, director of Cappella, explains the inspiration and creation of Cappella's new choral piece, "Ecce Panis," the lead track on their first album, "Abide in Me: Eucharistic Music for Revival."

Raber also commissioned three composers — Michael John Trotta, Philip Stopford, and Alex Seefeldt — to set three Eucharistic texts to original music and included contributions from  “friends of Cappella," including graduate teaching assistant and Mary student Kolbe Schanzenbach.
