About Me
I am the Family Nurse Practitioner Program Coordinator, so I facilitate the overall operation of the FNP program. My job duties include advising students in areas of degree planning, identification of campus resources, and professional development and manage efforts for enrollment growth, retention, and continuous program improvement. I teach many courses in the FNP curriculum, including pathophysiology, health assessment, and clinical courses. In addition I mentor faculty in their role as DNP Project Chair and regularly shepherd doctoral students through their capstone work. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, and traveling.
Why I’m At MarySince 2013, I have treasured seeing students grow in knowledge and confidence, and their transition to colleague after graduation. Mission work has also been a wonderful experience. Bringing medical care to the people of rural Peru with University of Mary students and faculty four times was life changing. The University of Mary is such a warm and welcoming community!
Expertise
My clinical experience includes pain management and rehabilitation, emergency and trauma care, primary care, and rural health. She currently practices part time at a local urgent care and in correctional medicine.
Most recently, I served as the North Dakota State Representative for the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. I have published several articles in the Journal of Professional Nursing and presented at many regional, national, and international conferences.
Some of my recent awards include the 2017 North Dakota Legendary Nurse Award for Faculty Achievement, the 2018-2019 University of Mary Graduate Nursing Excellence in Instruction Award, and top 5 most read articles in Contemporary Clinic.
