About Me

I have the opportunity to work with students in building their math skills so that each student is prepared for college-level math courses. I also work to provide a deep understanding of mathematics for the elementary teachers and middle school teachers to prepare each student for their careers in teaching mathematics to others. I love the fact that no matter where I go on campus at Mary, I can always have wonderful and friendly conversations with colleagues and students. This is the one workplace where I feel genuinely cared for and, because of this care, can genuinely care for others as an educator and colleague.

Why I’m At Mary

I love working with students who hate mathematics. One of the biggest rewards is seeing different students (who used to hate math) begin to see themselves as capable in mathematics. Mary has given me the opportunity to work with these students who want to grow, learn, and thrive in everything they do (including math).

Expertise

I worked for three years at Sylvan tutoring students of all grade levels in mathematics. I then worked for five years as a high school math instructor growing my skills in leading a large group of students with mixed abilities in math to master different concepts and leave class with a sense of understanding in mathematics.
