Featured Faculty

Daniel Luttrull, PhD
English Education Coordinator, Assistant Professor of English
I started teaching at the University of Mary in 2020. Before coming to Bismarck, my wife and I lived in Ohio, Indiana, Texas, and Ethiopia where we served for two years with the United States Peace Corps. While in Ethiopia, I taught at the Adwa College of Teacher Education and the Salesian Mission Kidane Meheret. When I’m not working as an academic, I enjoy reading mystery novels with my wife, going to the park with our five children, and playing board games with friends.

Alexander Mains, MEd
Assistant Professor of Education, Director of Secondary Education
As the director of the secondary education program, I have the opportunity to work with prospective middle school and high school educators to help them grow in their skills and develop a love of learning for their future students. I work within seven different subject areas for my program, teaching various methods courses and education courses, and visiting practicum schools where my future educators observe classroom teachers and practice teaching their lessons to real students.
