Construction Management Sponsorship and Mentorship Program
The Construction Management Sponsorship and Mentorship Program lets you invest in your future workforce and shape the next generation of construction project managers.
As leaders in a competitive industry, you need talented professionals who know their way around a job site and can manage complex projects from conception through completion. Our students need hands-on construction experience to complement their courses and lab work in the Hamm School of Engineering.
The Construction Management Sponsorship and Mentorship Program connects industry partners like you with high-performing college students in construction management and construction engineering for a progressive employment experience over three consecutive summers. Students are paired with experienced mentors and gradually transition from field operations to project coordination and management roles, preparing them for careers as project management professionals.
EMPLOYER COMMITMENT
- Sponsoring companies invest a minimum of $2,500 a year ($7,500 over three years) per sponsorship opportunity to participate in the program.
- If a student chooses your company, your investment becomes a scholarship they can access the following year.
- You also agree to provide progressively responsible, paid employment and structured mentorship for three summers.
EMPLOYER BENEFITS
- Freshmen self-select for this program and research and negotiate with the sponsoring companies — so you have exclusive access to our most motivated students.
- Sponsoring companies employ and mentor students for three summers, enabling you to shape their experience to meet your future workforce needs.
- Students graduate work-ready — and your company is well-positioned to hire those you mentor.
Your $2,500 investment enables you to participate in the interview process with students looking for sponsors. Wages and other benefits are negotiated directly with the student prior to sponsor selection. Since this is a competitive program, we cannot guarantee that a student will accept your offer of sponsorship.
Upon successful completion of the three-summer program, students will have comprehensive experience in both field and office roles, preparing them for full-time employment in entry-level professional positions such as project engineer or assistant project manager — ideally with their sponsoring company.
