Tanya Taplin, MS
- Assistant Professor Cyber Security Administration
I was born and raised on a grain and dairy farm in Strasburg, ND, and I am the third eldest of 10 children. I attended the University of Mary for my undergraduate degree and Dakota State University for my master's degree. I have more than 25 years of experience in government and education and hold multiple industry certifications. Before coming to the University of Mary, I worked for the US Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency as North Dakota's State Cybersecurity Advisor. I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, and staying active outdoors, especially in the summer.
Why I’m At Mary
Much of my life success is because of the teachers and professors that helped shape me into the person I am today. I have in many ways achieved the impossible and I owe a large part of that to professors like Dr. Kevin Fishbeck. I want to use my expertise and knowledge to be part of someone else's success story.
