About Me

I am a native of Hazen, North Dakota. I earned my undergraduate degree in English from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, where I balanced academics, athletics, and the arts, playing volleyball and acting in various drama productions. During that time, I also developed a passion for travel and cultural exchange. Before I finished my master’s degree in Education from Boise State University, I squeezed in three study abroad and two work abroad programs, cementing my calling to higher education and realizing my skillfulness at academic planning! I previously worked as a TRIO Academic Advisor at the University of Alaska Anchorage and an English, speech, and drama teacher and volleyball coach for the Hazen School District. I called many different places home before settling back in Hazen where my husband and I are raising four boys. I enjoy reading, playing the piano, being a youth group leader, outdoor activities, and particularly spending time on Lake Sakakawea.

Why I’m At Mary

I joined the University of Mary TRIO Student Support Services team with a goal to serve students, particularly those who are reaching and just need a stepstool.
