About Me

I am board-certified as an Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist (ACNS-BC) and hold a critical care registered nurse certification (CCRN). I have a deep-rooted passion for evidence-based practice (EBP) and enhancing the quality of care. I have published and presented EBP work locally and nationally in alarm management, severe alcohol withdrawal, the Clinical Nurse Specialist’s (CNS) contribution to healthcare, obstetrical critical care, and numerous other EBP and quality improvement initiatives. As a CNS, I live and breathe EBP, leading teams through the process and ensuring our interventions are rooted in the latest evidence, contributing to exceptional patient care outcomes.

Why I’m At Mary

My passion for evidence-based nursing practice and achieving exceptional patient outcomes reflects the core values of the University of Mary- respect, dignity, service, and community. I chose Mary not only for its academic excellence, but because it anchors me as a leader rooted in clinical practice excellence and moral purpose in today’s evolving healthcare environment.

Expertise

With more than 27 years of experience in adult critical care, I have advanced my career from respiratory therapist to registered nurse to advanced practice nurse as a CNS. I have mentored numerous EBP fellows and led a wide array of evidence-based quality improvement initiatives encompassing alarm management, delirium, sepsis, resuscitation management, brain herniation, obstetrical critical care, and many more.
