About Me

I joined the University of Mary in May of 2013 and have been an Assistant Professor for the Gary Tharaldson School of Business since 2014. I spent the first ten years of my career in a management role for FedEx Ground. It was a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment that I thrived in. After earning my MBA in 2005, my vocation found me. One of my professors approached me about transitioning from the transportation industry to higher education. I started my higher education career in the admissions department and advanced to leadership positions overseeing different departments and initiatives. I have experience in leadership, admissions, retention, teaching, advising, scheduling, strategic planning, succession planning, and team building. In the spirit of life-long learning, I returned to school in 2015. In 2019, I completed my goal of earning a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Administration. My dissertation was on teacher job satisfaction and autonomy. I'm passionate about engaging students in the learning process and believe learning should be fun. I am married and have one daughter in college.

Why I’m At Mary

As a faculty member of GTSB, my focus is to develop virtuous business leaders who promote human dignity and flourishing. I was drawn to the vocation of higher education decades ago with the promise of being able to impact our future one student at a time. The truth is my life has been immensely impacted by each student I have encountered in my career. The students at the University of Mary are such a blessing! I believe in the university's mission and thrive in an environment that is dedicated to serving others.
