About Me

As a professor in the occupational therapy program, I interact with my students through a range of traditional classroom activities and community-based experiences, both inside and outside the classroom. I incorporate my clinical expertise into my teaching to create a well-rounded, practical, and engaging learning environment for students. Additionally, I serve as a research preceptor for doctoral students and a faculty mentor for their doctoral capstone experiences. I am a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and the North Dakota Occupational Therapy Association. I contribute professionally with local, state, regional, and national presentations surrounding my coursework and research.

Why I’m At Mary

I appreciate working in a faith based university focused on Benedictine values. These values allow me to serve my students in many capacities with emphasis on the moral character and development of a professional with solid ethics and care and compassion for others.

Expertise

I practiced in a variety of settings, including inpatient acute care, inpatient rehab, and home health care, serving patients with varying complexities and diagnoses. In addition, I served as the clinical coordinator for my department, overseeing departmental responsibilities while continuing my clinical work with patients. My teaching expertise includes courses surrounding anatomy and kinesiology, adult-based practice, productive aging, community-based fieldwork with older adults, and delivery and management related to occupational therapy practice.
