About Me

As an instructor and clinical educator in the speech language pathology program, I have the opportunity to contribute to our students' academic endeavors, not only as they learn the content specific to the discipline but also as they begin to apply what they learn to their clinical experiences. Additionally, I find value in meaningful communication/collaboration efforts because such practices not only strengthen relationships but also result in positive solution-driven outcomes.

My husband Evan and I have three high-energy boys! I enjoy spending time with my family, baking, reading, gardening, and getting lost in nature.

Why I’m At Mary

I value how the University of Mary's mission, values, and service are central to its interactions. What a gift it is to enrich academia learning opportunities by integrating experience, faith, and service into instruction/interactions. This framework equips aspiring SLP students to enter the workforce with a deep knowledge base and demonstrate strong clinical skills while staying true to their service.

Expertise

I have 16 years experience as a pediatric speech-language pathologist, where I served my patients (birth through 21 years) and their families in the educational settings and in the medical settings. I have additional skills/education and experience in the following areas of pediatrics: feeding, articulation (development, disorders), language (development, disorders), narrative language, neuroscience, and therapeutic interventions for articulation and language.
