See Your Student’s Balance

Before you can view your student’s balance, they must add you as an Authorized Payer.  As an Authorized Payer, you will have your own username and password. This will allow you to see your student’s entire account and current balances, as well as the ability to store a preferred payment method.   Students can add you as an Authorized Payer, from the home page of the Transact payment portal by following these instructions.

  1. Go to “My Account”
  2. Scroll down to the “Payer” section
  3. Click “Send Payer Invitation”
  4. Enter the person’s name and email address and submit

Once you have your username and password in hand, you can log into the Transact Payment portal.

Pay Your Student's Bill

Eliminate the hassle of writing and mailing checks with an automatic bank payment (ACH). Simply enter your US checking or savings account information and payment will be made electronically.  It’s free and convenient!

The money will automatically be withdrawn from your account, and you won't have to worry about paying by the due date or in person. Your financial institution will make these payments on your behalf.

  • Payments are accepted in the Student Accounts Office or by mailing your payment with a printed statement of your account balance. (see address below)
  • Cash, checks, and money orders are accepted.

International students can make payments through Transact, our student payment portal. More information can be found here.

Stop Payment and Replacement Checks

If students wish to place a stop payment or request a replacement student refund check, they must wait 30 days from the actual date of issuance. Replacement checks are re-issued 14 calendar days after the stop payment process is confirmed.

Loan and Financial Aid Refunds

Loan proceeds or other aid for a given semester can only be refunded once the funds are received and posted to the student's account and classes have begun for that semester.

  • A refund will typically be mailed to the student within 14 days of receiving the funds. Because of the volume of refund checks, we do not allow students to pick up their checks in person.
  • Refunds and adjustments to accounts are determined by the official written notification to the Office of the Registrar and are calculated from the day classes start to the official date of the change.

Get Your Refund Faster with eRefund

Students can receive their financial aid refund faster and more easily when they set up eRefund. Students can simply enter their bank account info where they’d like to receive the funds. They’ll receive a notification via email or text when the funds are available.

  1. Log into your My.UMary account and proceed to the Transact Payment portal.
  2. Enter your designated bank account information where you would like to receive funds as a direct deposit.
  3. You will receive a disbursement notification via email and/or text when funds are available.
