Milo Trusty

Milo Trusty image.Milo Trusty, a Mandan North Dakota native, was the state wrestling champion in 1963, when he wrestled for Mandan High School. Wrestling has remained an integral part of Trusty’s life. From 1971 to 1973 he coached at Umpqua Community College in Oregon and was co-head coach at Bismarck State College from 1973 to 1975. He was the first wrestling coach at Century High School in Bismarck from 1975 to 1977 and founded the Mat Pac Wrestling Club in 1978, a competitive wrestling club focused on technique and conditioning.

From 1987 to 2002, Trusty was the first wrestling coach at the University of Mary. During his time with the Marauders, his dual record was 120-5. Under Coach Trusty, the Marauders were the NAIA national runners-up in 1996 and 1997 and placed in the top four six times. Trusty coached 12 NAIA individual national champions and 78 All-Americans.

Trusty currently resides in Colorado and remains active with the wrestling community. As assistant wrestling coach, he occasionally takes over wrestling practice at Windsor High School, where his son, Monte, is the head coach.
