Anne Hook graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a minor in Political Science. She also received her M.S. in Higher Education from UND. Anne joined the University of Mary Student Success Center in August 2018. Prior to working at the University of Mary, Anne worked as an Admissions Representative for the UND Office of Admissions. In that role, she helped oversee and execute college/career fairs as a site coordinator for the Dakota Association for College Admission Counseling. She is also a member of the American College Personnel Association. A passionate student affairs advocate and professional, Anne’s higher education experience includes academic advising, college admissions, first-year programming, pre-college bridge programs, females in STEM fields, and serving as an adjunct instructor of Public Speaking.

Erik Cutler graduated from the University of Mary with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Behavioral Sciences & Teaching and a minor in Addiction Counseling. He also earned his Master’s Degree in Management from the University of Mary. Erik joined the University of Mary Student Success Center in October 2018. Prior to working at the University of Mary, Erik held earlier positions as Chair and Instructor of Business Degree Programs at United Tribes Technical College, Coordinator of Multicultural Programs at Bismarck State College, and College Access Grant Director for the North Dakota University System. Erik’s higher education experience includes academic advising, college instruction and multicultural student outreach.

Katherine (Katie) Mehrer graduated from Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ with her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a Public Relations/Journalism Concentration. She received her M.A. in Education with a College Student Personnel Administration concentration from Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ. Katie joined in the University of Mary Student Success Center in October 2012 as an Academic Advisor, and has served as the Director of Academic Advising and First-Year Experience from 2013-2017. She became the Assistant Director of the Student Success Center at the start of the 2017 academic year and is currently serving in that role. Prior to that, she held positions as a Student Development Specialist at Montclair State University in Montclair, NJ, Business Challenge Coordinator at Dickinson State University in Dickinson, ND, and as an Advertising Consultant. Katie brings experience in higher education that includes academic advising, event coordinating, first-year experience, Greek life, and student activities, as well as experience in advertising, public relations and marketing.

Sierra Fredricksen graduated from the University of Mary with a Bachelor of Science in English. She also received her M.A. in English from the University of Denver. Sierra joined the University of Mary Student Success Center in July 2019 as an Academic Advisor and Athletics Liaison. She is also the liaison to the School of Health Sciences. Prior to that, she held positions as an Academic Success Counselor at the University of Providence in Great Falls, MT and as the Coordinator for Writing and Retention at Williston State College in Williston, ND. Sierra brings experience in higher education that includes academic advising, first year experience, tutoring services, athletics and serving as an adjunct instructor of Native American Literature and Communication.

Veronica Schaefbauer graduated from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies Education as well as in Social & Behavioral Science with a minor in Speech. Veronica serves as an Academic Advisor in the Student Success Center and for the University Studies program. She is also the Liaison to the School of Arts and Sciences. During her undergraduate studies, Veronica was very active in campus activities and organizations. She was involved in the Emerging Leaders Academy, SPURS, Marauders on Politics, Student North Dakota United, Vera Forma, a FOCUS Bible Study, and more. She also served as a peer leader in 2014 and as a peer team leader in 2015 and 2016. Veronica was a peer tutor for the Student Success Center from 2014-2016. One of her biggest accomplishments was receiving the Presidential Student Leadership Award in 2016 in recognition of her outstanding leadership. Veronica is passionate about serving others and carrying out the University of Mary’s mission.
