Biography

Dr. Petit is an assistant professor in the Master of Science in Athletic Training program at the University of Mary. He received an undergraduate degree in athletic training from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and a master’s degree in athletic training from Illinois State University. Prior to coming to the University of Mary, Dr. Petit completed a Ph.D. in kinesiology from Michigan State University, where he served as a teaching and research assistant.

His primary research interests reside in sport-related concussions, specifically in improving recovery outcomes. Dr. Petit has published his research in scholarly journals and presented posters at several local and national conferences. In addition to his research, he has various clinical athletic training experiences ranging from professional football, professional auto-racing, collegiate ice hockey, and more.
