Biography

Joellen (Jodi Roller) has bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degrees in physical therapy from the University of North Dakota and a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was the PT program's former chair from 2001 to 2010 and served as its first director of clinical education from 1995 to 1999. She served as dean of the School of Health Sciences for ten years and retired from that position in May 2020. Currently, she is serving as interim chair of the physical therapy department. She had 21 years of clinical experience prior to her academic position and on-going professional development in both neurological and pediatric management. Dr. Roller has publications in the Journal of Neurologic Physical Therapy, Journal of Aquatics, and Journal of Physical Therapy Education. Her service activities include being a peer reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission and lector at her church, Corpus Christi. Dr. Roller, who is married to Representative Bob Martinson, has two children: Matthew Roller, MD, and Rebecca Ripley, DDS, and seven grandchildren. She enjoys traveling, reading, and gardening.
