Current Position: Assistant Professor in Music, University of Mary, Bismarck, ND.
Dr. Russell Ballenger teaches low brass and directs the jazz ensembles at the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. Dr. Ballenger has performed with the Amarillo Symphony, Mississippi Symphony, Tuscaloosa Symphony, New Mexico Philharmonic, and currently holds the position of Principal Trombone with the Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed with the Four Tops and in the National Broadway tour of "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas: The Musical!” Ballenger has written articles published by the International Trombone Association and the National Association for Music Education. As a clinician, he has presented at the NAfME conference and at colleges including Boise State, West Texas A&M, and Indiana Universities.
