Jill Nustad, D.Sc., ACSM-CEP

Brief Bio

Dr. Jill Nustad earned her Doctor of Science in Health Promotion and Wellness from Rocky Mountain University of Health Promotions, Provo, UT, and her Master of Science in Clinical Exercise Physiology from Ball State University, Muncie, IN. She has taught full-time at the University of Mary since 2000, and was instrumental in the accreditation process for the Program in Exercise Science.

Nustad has 13 years of clinical practice in the combined areas of cardiac rehabilitation, adult fitness, youth fitness, exercise prescription, and acceleration program for athletic development.

She currently serves as the North Dakota representative for the Northland ACSM, serves on the Executive Committee for Go! Bismarck-Mandan Community Coalition, and several University of Mary committees. Nustad facilitates student research and is published in the area of body image disorders in addition to several article critiques.

Outside of work, Jill enjoys physical activity, reading and spending time with friends and family.
