SSS is a Title IV federal grant program funded by the U.S. Department of Education
Eligibilty
Students who are interested in receiving services must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Accepted for enrollment or currently enrolled at the University of Mary
- Be a citizen or national of the United States
- Must have a need for academic support in a post secondary program

- Meet federal low-income guidelines, or
- Your parents did not complete a four-year bachelor level degree, or
- You are qualified under the Americans with Disabilities Act
Interested students who are potentially eligible must complete an application that will be reviewed by Student Support Services to determine their official eligibility.
Program Services
Freshman Orientation Instruction
Eligible freshman have the option of enrolling in a freshman orientation leadership section (ALU122) instructed by a SSS Academic Advisor.
Academic & Personal Advising
Participants can receive academic advising assistance during their freshman thru senior years in college.
Financial Aid & Financial Literacy Awareness
The SSS program provides financial literacy awareness with financial aid and student accounts.
Early Preregistration Submission
SSS participants are allowed to submit their pre-registration forms early.
Career Advising & Referral
The SSS program provides basic career guidance, testing and referral.
Graduate School Application Assistance
The SSS program provides all participants, application and testing information for graduate school.
Free Professional Tutorial Services
The SSS program has professional staff to assist students in certain academic areas. These services are limited and based upon each professional tutor's assignment load.
Program Benefits
- Book grants and merit scholarships for actively participating students
Some restrictions apply for athletes and students who have full institutional scholarships.
You must also be actively participating and meeting satisfactory academic progress.
- Supplemental financial grant aid for first & second-year Pell grant students
