Theatre at U-Mary is an activity open to any major and any member of the community. We welcome performers, technicians and assistants from all levels of experience. Theater is linked to the University's mission to serve the intellectual, cultural and spiritual needs of the people of this region through production of diverse styles, periods and artistic perspectives. Every effort is given to making the stage an extension of the classroom for both participant and audience. Auditions for most productions are publically announced at the beginning of each academic year and all are welcome to participate.
Generally, two main stage productions are offered annually but we have also produced one-act play festivals and touring productions of children’s theater and readers theater. Every third year, theater pairs with the music department to produce a musical.
