Agnew Paces Marauders to Win


Dickinson, ND - Freshman Jennifer Agnew led the University of Mary women's cross country team to a third straight team win as the Marauders captured five of the top six spots in the Blue Hawk Invitational. The U-Mary women, ranked ninth in the NCAA Division II Central Region, have captured first place in all three of its 2009 meets.

Eamin Entwisle finished as the top collegiate runner on the men's side and placed second overall. As a team, the U-Mary men finished third.

A native of Onamia, MN, Agnew ran a season and personal best, traversing the course in a time of 19:05. Finishing second was another U-Mary freshman, Dakota Wolf. She completed the trail in 19:16. Kristin Neumiller, a junior, claimed fourth (19:39), and fellow junior Alysson Piccolo placed fifth (19:54). A trio of freshmen rounded out the the field for the Marauders, with Melissa Agnew claiming sixth (20:01), Emilee Morehouse 15th (20:42) and Alicia Nehl 20th (21:56).

The Marauders earned 18 team points, followed by MSU-Billings with 51 and Dickinson State had 54.

Entwisle toured the men's course in a time of 26:21, a personal and season best time for the sophomore from Hot Springs, SD.

U-Mary's second-leading runner was freshman Joshua Nuss who placed 11th in a time 28:28. Eric Mohrbacher was 13th (28:37), Casey Jore 18th (29:47) and Quincy Pierce 19th (29:57).

DSU won the men's meet with 22 points, followed MSU-Billings (49 points) and U-Mary (51).
