BISMARCK, ND - The University of Mary has announced plans to add two new doctoral programs to its offerings.
This past Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, the University of Mary received authorization from its board of trustees to offer the doctorate of education and the doctorate of nursing practice contingent upon approval of the Higher Learning Commission during their site visit in February 2013.
These will be the second and third doctoral programs offered at the University of Mary. Mary began its popular and successful doctor of physical therapy program in 2006.
"We're here to serve the needs of the region and beyond," commented President Father James Shea. "The University of Mary and its founders, the Benedictine Sisters of Annunciation Monastery, listen and discuss the needs of the region with professionals and industry leaders. And with the massive growth in education and health care needs in western North Dakota, they are telling us there is a strong demand for these programs. We're pleased to be able to offer these programs that will help provide the highest quality and values-based workforce."
More details will be forthcoming once final approval has been granted.
