The Campus Read committee chose the center, a remarkable organization that takes all patients regardless of their ability to pay, because its mission is directly related to this past year's read.

In this case The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, the story of one woman's amazing contribution to cancer research provided the inspiration. Of the many fundraisers on campus, the biggest involved the selling of blossoms to honor the memory of those whose lives have been touched by cancer.
