Bismarck, ND - The University of Mary encourages area businesses to take part in the 10th Annual Community Fair. The event, sponsored by America's Leadership University, provides an opportunity for businesses to market their products and services to over 1,000 University of Mary students.
"It is a win-win event for both students and businesses," says Kevin Allan, director of Career Services. "New and returning students have a chance to become acquainted with area businesses' products and services. Many [students] will be seeking employment and can learn about part-time job opportunities. Employers, on the other hand, are able to market themselves to a lot of students in a short period of time and possibly find some new employees in the process." A bonus for employers is that the event is free of charge.
The Community Fair, in the Leach Field House on the University of Mary campus Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., is a great opportunity for the business community to partner with the university and build relationships with students.
The University of Mary is looking to match or surpass last year's record turnout of 80 employers and over 325 students. "We are already at 60 businesses and organizations this year," notes Allan. Businesses are asked to respect the University of Mary's mission by not marketing alcohol, tobacco, and credit card products or services. Businesses may register for the event through Friday, Aug. 19.
