Honoring the Professoriate: The 2009-2010 academic year marked the start of a new University of Mary tradition. For the first time ever, the faculty were recognized in a special event, Honoring the Professoriate. A procession of faculty in their academic regalia wound across campus from the Casey Center for Nursing Education to Our Lady of the Annunciation Chapel, led by President Father James Shea, who rang a bell from one of the founding Sisters' early schools. A special prayer service was followed by a presentation by Shea and President Emerita Sister Thomas Welder, entitled "Bringing Our Mission to the Classroom." [ Watch the video ]
