The University of Mary is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Chair of the new Speech and Language Department.
Summary of Position: The Department Chair plans, implements, and directs the academic and clinical education components for its new Bachelorís in Communication Disorders and Masterís in Speech and Language Pathology degrees. Responsibilities include developing a vision for the professional education program; obtaining and maintaining accreditation with the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association; curriculum development, review, and revision; program and curricular assessment, recruitment and professional development of department faculty, communication with administration and other constituents; policy development, review, and revision; resource management; and strategic planning.
Minimum Criteria: The Department Chair must be a Speech Language Pathologist with an earned doctoral degree, licensed or eligible for licensure in North Dakota, and have an understanding of higher education and contemporary clinical practice appropriate for leadership in speech language pathology education. The successful candidate will uphold the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary.
This position is directly supervised by the Dean of the School of Health Sciences.
