The University of Mary, Bismarck, ND, invites applications for a faculty position in Mathematics Education beginning August 2015. The Department of Mathematics, Physics, and Engineering seeks to develop Mathematics courses for Elementary and Secondary (non-math) Education majors that satisfy North Dakota Math Endorsement requirements. Typical duties will include teaching the math courses developed for Elementary and Secondary Education majors, teaching courses taken by traditional Mathematics Education majors, and teaching service level Mathematics.
A Ph.D. in Mathematics Education is strongly preferred; a Masters in Mathematics Education or Masters/Ph.D. in Mathematics with significant background working with Elementary Education majors or Elementary school teachers will also be considered.
The successful candidate must be a team player who demonstrates a willingness to strengthen math education and to support and advance the Christian, Catholic, and Benedictine mission of the University of Mary.
Candidates who are comfortable teaching courses in both the traditional and online format a plus.
