Director of the Rome Program
The University of Mary is seeking a full-time director to oversee the life and operations of its vibrant campus in Rome, Italy. In its fifth year, the program is filled to capacity with 80 students per year. The director is responsible for facilitating and building a rich environment that integrates faith and reason while providing students with the opportunities to discover another world in the ancient roads, architecture, and culture of Rome and Europe. The director helps to facilitate scheduling of on-campus classes and off-campus excursions to sites in Rome and Italy. The director oversees campus staff, manages expenditures, helps planning for the future life and the growth of the campus, and assists in annual budgeting. As a charismatic leader, the director maintains and builds relationships with the sisters who host the University at the Rome campus, and forges collaborative partnerships with a variety of groups throughout Rome. The position includes room, board, and benefits.
Candidates must demonstrate a willingness to support and advance the Christian, Catholic and Benedictine tradition of the University of Mary.
The position begins in August of 2016; however, depending upon the background of the successful candidate, a start date in summer of 2015 may be required. EOE/AA.
1. Two or more years of experience in administration within Catholic educational programs or institutions.
2. Graduate degree preferred.
3. Willingness to learn Italian required. Proficiency in Italian is a plus.
4. Commitment to overseeing and building the program for 3 or more years is needed.
