Summary of Position: The accountant is responsible for developing the annual operating and capital budgets for the University; and for managing the strategic modeling template. The position will also work with Accounting staff as requested, in order to complete tasks and keep the accounting information flowing.
Position Relationship: Reports to the Director of Investment Accounting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
„X Demonstrates a willingness to support the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary.
„X Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
„X Coordinates the completion of the annual operating budget.
„X Coordinates the completion of the annual capital budget.
„X Manages the entities strategic modeling template.
„X Maintain fixed asset database.
„X Monitors cash flow projections in accord with budgets and actual results
„X Assists in monthly close and trust administration
„X Assists in financial audit preparation.
„X Projects as assigned.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
„X B.S. in accounting or equivalent.
„X Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
„X Knowledge of auditing practices and principles.
„X Experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite Applications, especially Excel.
„X Experience preferable in Jenzabar, Info Maker, and Access
Work Environment: The office is located in the Benedictine Center. This is a full-time, 12 month position with benefits. Normal working hours are 8:00 a.m. ¡V 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Periodic evening and weekend work is required to meet departmental deadlines and the needs of the university. Daily attendance at work is required unless the supervisor authorizes leave.
