Faculty-Liffrig Family School of Education & Behavioral Sciences-Dept of Education
The University of Mary, Bismarck, North Dakota, is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Education in the Liffrig Family School of Education and Behavioral Sciences, beginning in the fall of 2014. The University of Mary offers education majors in elementary education, early childhood education, special education, and secondary education (i.e. math education, biology education, history education, social studies education, business education, English education, and music education) with approximately 200 undergraduate students in the department.
The University of Mary, a center of learning in the Benedictine tradition, has a three-fold mission: teaching, scholarly study including research, and service. The responsibilities of this faculty rank position include teaching undergraduate education courses and administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Chair of the Department of Education, as determined by candidatesí teaching experience and earned degrees. All faculty members in the department are expected to advise students within the major and be an active member of the University and professional community.
Preference will be given to applicants with prior K-6 teaching experience, K-12 administrative experience, and demonstrated commitment to the teaching profession. A masterís degree in education or related field is required, but an earned doctorate is preferred. All candidates must have a willingness to support the Christian, Catholic and Benedictine mission of the University of Mary. The University of Mary is an EEO/AA employer.
