Schedule a Visit Today

Sign up to compete any Monday, Wednesday, or Friday
between Nov. 3 - Nov. 21, 2014

Who can compete in the Fall Scholarship Day Event?
Eligible participants must:

  • Be a first-time college student
  • Be accepted to the University of Mary as a member of the Class of 2019
  • Have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.25 and a composite ACT score of 21

What do I need to do?
Pick a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday between Nov. 3 - Nov. 21, 2014 to visit the Mary campus and compete for one of four scholarships worth between $8,500 and $14,000 in scholarship money.

How does it work?
During your visit you will:

  • Meet with your personal admissions representative
  • Meet with an Emerging Leaders representative
  • Meet with a student ambassador and receive a campus tour
  • Meet with a member of the faculty who specializes in your intended major

This visit and tour takes about 2.5 hours to complete. Following this, you will move into the scholarship competition itself where you will:

  • Provide Mary with a visual portfolio of your engagement in a specific leadership experience
  • Present your portfolio to a panel of Mary staff members
  • Have one-hour to respond to an essay prompt

The competition takes about 1.5 hours.

Complete details will be emailed to you upon registration.

How does the scholarship work? Can I combine it with other scholarships?
The scholarship totals listed below represent your total stacked winnings, so the below winnings take into account your existing academic scholarships plus your stacked winnings, yielding a total possible scholarship award of $14,000, $10,000, or $8,500. Note that you cannot combine your winnings with the Catholic Scholars award, but athletic or music scholarships may stack on top of your winnings for even greater savings.

How many participants will win? How much are the scholarships worth?
A total of four scholarships will be awarded at the Scholarship Event.

  • First Place (One award) worth up to $14,000 in total scholarship money
  • Second Place (One award) worth up to $10,000 in total scholarship money
  • Third Place (Two awards) worth up to $8,500 in total scholarship money

Are the scholarships renewable?
Yes, each scholarship award is renewable annually for four years.
