How do I apply?

Qualifying students will be asked to complete a 500-word essay about their understanding of both CHI and Mary’s missions and how it reflects in their lives. Students will receive their application from their admissions representative when they’ve fulfilled the eligibility requirements.

A selection committee, made up of leaders from both CHI and Mary, will review the essays and award scholarships based upon submission. Initial award recipients will be notified by March 1 if they receive an award, and they must confirm their intent to enroll by May 1.

Can I still earn other scholarships?

Yes. The CHI Future Healthcare Leaders Scholarship is stackable on top of other academic and/or athletic awards. Maximum amount of academic institutional aid, even if other awards are combined with the CHI Nursing Scholarship, may not exceed the full price of tuition for an academic year.  This award is not stackable with any of the other CHI Scholarships.

What does this scholarship cover?

Eligible students will receive as much as $12,000 towards their senior year tuition. This scholarship does not cover fees, room, and/or board.

Are transfer students eligible?

No, they are not; however, there are other CHI Scholarships available for transfer students. Ask your admissions representative for more information about the CHI Nursing or Commitment Scholarships.

How do I start the process?

What if I am a transfer student?

Students who transfer to the University of Mary and enter their final year of nursing study in Fall 2017 can qualify for the CHI Nursing Scholarship or the CHI Commitment Scholarship.

Why doesn’t this program include other majors?

CHI worked closely with University officials to set-up scholarships that address healthcare workforce demands.
