A multidisciplinary approach related to cardiopulmonary patients will also be revisited with special emphasis on a working knowledge of each individual profession's scope of care.
Relationship to Curriculum Design: The student, already having a solid foundation of anatomy and physiology, will advance their knowledge of the cardiopulmonary system. They will be applying principles of Pathophysiology (PTH 407) as well as Physical Examination (PTH 452) as it relates to the intervention of the cardiopulmonary compromised patient. Each student has passed a course in Clinical Procedures in Rehabilitation and Physical Evaluation prior to this class. Clinical application and critical thinking will be expanded to challenge the student considering they have completed one 8 week clinical experience and are in the second academic semester of the PT professional program.
