Dan And Heather Butler Honored With Alumni Leadership Award

Alumni Dan and Heather (Balken) Butler, '85 & '03, respectively, were recognized with the University of Mary Harold Schafer Alumni Leadership Award at a special event Nov. 8, 2012, at the Holiday Inn, Fargo. Named for legendary North Dakota entrepreneur and advocate of youth and education Harold Schafer, this award is conferred by the University of Mary on graduates who have attained distinction as leaders while exemplifying the values cherished by the university. In presenting the award, Mary President Father James Shea cited the vision, caring, work ethic and example set by its namesake, Harold Schafer. More>>
The University Of Mary Says New Doctoral Programs Are On The Way
The University of Mary has announced plans to add two new doctoral programs to its offerings. This past Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, the University of Mary received authorization from its board of trustees to offer the doctorate of education and the doctorate of nursing practice contingent upon approval of the Higher Learning Commission during their site visit in February 2013. These will be the second and third doctoral programs offered at the University of Mary. Mary began its popular and successful doctor of physical therapy program in 2006. More>>
University Of Mary And Dickinson State Collaborate To Bring Graduate Programs To Dickinson Area

The University of Mary is partnering with Dickinson State University to offer master's-level degrees in education, business, nursing and counseling in Dickinson starting in spring 2013. Under the agreement, anyone in western North Dakota looking to further their education in any of these fields can earn their master's degree from the University of Mary at Dickinson State. The University of Mary will have a presence on the DSU campus. The DSU collaboration is the University of Mary's fourth collaborative initiative with a public university within the past 12 months. Prayer Day 2013 To Feature Christian Creative Consultant Barbara Nicolosi
Barbara Nicolosi, a widely recognized media script consultant and lecturer, will be the featured guest speaker at the University of Mary's annual Prayer Day, Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013. Nicolosi, who has brought a strong hand, a creative eye, and sharp mind regarding religion in the media to scores of Hollywood features and television projects, will speak at 11 a.m., in the McDowell Activity Center (MAC). Lunch at noon will be followed by workshops at 1 p.m. and a Eucharistic liturgy celebrated by Bishop David Kagan at 2:15 p.m. Participants may register on-site at the McDowell Activity Center, beginning at 10 a.m. However, advanced registration online is strongly recommended.
