Get In The Spirit Of The Season At The Celebration Of Trees!
Visit, Vote, And Help Give A Family A Merrier Christmas!

Once again, the U-Mary Alumni Association is sponsoring a Christmas tree at Pride Inc.'s Celebration of Trees at Kirkwood Mall. Stroll through the holiday forest and get caught up in the wonder of the season. Then vote for your favorite tree (ours faces J.C. Penney's by Deb and Radio Shack). Voting is open through Nov. 20; then all trees and decorations will be donated to families in need in the community. (The Marauders stocking cap, tree-topper scarf and fleece blanket tree skirt go with our tree!) Help us earn No. 1 this year by casting your vote for our tree at the table in the area fronted by the Riddle's Jewelry, Claire's Boutique, and Coldwater Creek entrances.

Be A Hunger-Fighting Hero!
U-Mary social work students are conducting a food drive for Community Action's Backpacks for Kids Program. The goal is to fill 420 backpacks; Community Action distributes at least this many food-filled backpacks every Friday to local school children to ensure they have sufficient food over the weekend. The following food items are requested (no foods needing refrigeration or in glass containers please): cereal, yogurt bars, granola bars, fruit and pudding cups, canned or boxed meals, and jelly/jam. Drop off donations Nov. 14-17, at the Butler Center downtown, or at the following campus locations: Welder Library, the switchboard on north campus, the Student Development Office, or the Business Office and Admissions area. The food drive is being conducted in conjunction with U-Mary's Nov. 17 Poverty Simulation and National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, Nov. 12-20.
