Neal Kalberer Receives NSIC Noel Olson Volunteer Of The Year Award

Neal Kalberer of the University of Mary was presented with the Northern Sun's 2012 Noel Olson Volunteer of the Year Award at the 13th annual NSIC Hall of Fame Banquet on July 11, in St. Cloud, MN. The award was given in recognition of Kalberer's many seasons as the public address announcer for Marauders football and basketball. A passionate advocate for U-Mary athletics, Kalberer was the man behind the microphone at Marauders football for 23 years and handled basketball for close to 17 years.

The Noel Olson Award recognizes the singular commitment of former NSIC coach and athletics administrator Noel Olson to the advancement of NSIC visibility, credibility and excellence throughout the nation during his tenure in the league. The award is intended to honor individuals who, as volunteers, have made significant contributions to the NSIC as a whole. More>>

The Bismarck-Mandan Chamber of Commerce's Military Affairs Committee invites the community to help select the recipient of the 2012 Golden Eagle Award. The Golden Eagle Award ties into the chamber's mission to support the business community by recognizing a member business and encouraging other businesses to develop military-minded practices. Farewell
Dr. Béla A. Balogh, a member of the Social and Behavioral Sciences faculty from 1972-2009, died July 8, 2012, in Eagan, MN. He provided leadership in the establishment of the university's psychology program and served as its director for 13 years, as well as helping coach Marauders football and youth ice hockey and soccer in the community. The family has established a scholarship at the University of Mary in his name.
