U-Mary Welcomes New Director Of Alumni

Paul Keeney, '04, has joined the University of Mary as director of alumni. A graduate of U-Mary's biology program, Keeney returns to U-Mary after five years with the Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock Public School in Hazelton, ND, where his positions included science instructor, secondary principal, assistant football coach (Linton-HMB), and HMB Public School athletic director. Having also been an environmental scientist for the North Dakota Department of Health and a waterfowl technician with the North Dakota Game and Fish Department, he is comfortable with a broad range of people, but he especially looks forward to working in U-Mary's Benedictine environment. "The academic, athletic, and spiritual growth I experienced at Mary have had a major impact on my life, and I'm excited about this opportunity to return and give back," says Keeney. A former Marauders student-athlete, since graduating, Keeney has participated in football alumni activities, as well as U-Mary-related community events. He is eager to expand on this and to work with alum of all ages from all U-Mary campuses to develop new opportunities for involvement and foster a more vibrant alumni community. "It is my hope to strengthen the connection between U-Mary alum and the institution using a variety of techniques to appeal to our growing alumni family," he says. University Of Mary And Military Ovation To Sponsor Ronald McDonald Care Mobile In Support Of The Military Child
U-Mary is partnering with Military Ovation, a new support organization, to sponsor Ronald McDonald Care Mobile visits to area communities, bringing free dental care to children of military families. The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile is a mobile dental clinic on wheels that delivers needed dental care to children ages 0-21 in Western North Dakota. Children of active duty and Guard/Reserve military, veterans and pregnant military spouses will have the opportunity to receive free dental work including cleanings, x-rays, light cavity work and extractions. The mobile clinic's first stop was an April visit to Bismarck, which was also sponsored by the Bismarck-Mandan Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee, in honor of April being the Month of the Military Child. The clinic will be in Minot, ND, from June 18-22, and Dickinson, ND, from July 9-13. More>>
