Alumni Gatherings Highlight Graduation 2011 Activities As the University of Mary gears up to welcome a new class of alumni at its 51st commencement, current alum will be catching up with college friends and teammates at a number of special gatherings being held in conjunction with graduation. Kicked off by U-Mary Men's Soccer Alumni Gatherings & Games, April 9-10, upcoming graduation-related events in Bismarck will include:
U-Mary alum living in or near Fargo are invited to spend a great couple of hours socializing and networking with other alumni on Thursday, May 5, from 5:01 p.m.-7 p.m., at The Winery, at 1404 33rd St. S, Fargo. Alumni are welcome to bring a friend or significant other. The entry fee is $5 for alum, $7 for non-alum, and includes appetizers and two drink tickets (each good for one glass of wine or non-alcoholic beverage). Classical Meets World Music When NYC-Based Silver Roots Visits U-MaryJuilliard-trained musicians Shawn Wyckoff (flute) and Maria Kaneko Millar (violin) headline "Silver Roots: Classical and Folk" -- a mind-bending, sonic adventure spanning multiple countries, cultures and traditions -- at University of Mary's R.M. Heskett Hall on Monday, April 25, 2011, at 7:30 p.m."Silver Roots: Classical & Folk" features performances at the crossroads of classical and world music, inspired by the magnetic sounds of Ireland, Germany, Japan, China, Canada, the United States and other nations. More>> One Of U-Mary's Own Returns From The Bright Lights Of Broadway New York City Broadway Vocal Coach William Demaniow, will present a solo concert "Notes from NYC: the Sound of The City's Indie Theater," at 7 p.m., on Thursday, April 14, 2011, in R.M. Heskett Hall, Clairmont Center for the Performing Arts, on the campus of the University of Mary. Demaniow will also present a master class "Living the Lyric" on Thursday at 11 a.m., in R.M. Heskett Hall. Both the concert and master class are free and open to the public. More>> Are You An Alum With A Business? Boys in grades K-8 will have the opportunity to learn from the best when the University of Mary Men's Basketball Team will conduct a Boys Youth Basketball Clinic on April 25 at the Bismarck YMCA. The Marauders men's team also will host an Individual Skills Camp May 31-June 2 and an Offensive Improvement Camp Aug. 1-3, for boys basketball players on the U-Mary campus. June & July Marauders Girls Basketball Camps Will Give Junior High & High School Athletes A Chance To Learn From The Best A trio of upcoming University of Mary basketball camps will provide girls in grades seven through 12 a unique opportunity to improve individual and team skills. In the June Shooters Camp and the July Marauders Jamboree Team Camp and Competition Camp (with residential option), teen athletes will learn Marauders "winning ways" from U-Mary's acclaimed coaching staff.
