Announcing the University of Mary's New Campus -- in Rome, Italy!
U-Mary has selected the city of Rome as the site for its new campus in Italy, which will be launched in fall 2010. A guest house and meeting center located in Monteverde Nuovo, a quiet area on the edge of Italy's capital city, and managed by the Handmaids of Charity will be home to U-Mary's new Italian campus. "The House of Hospitality ('Al Casaletto') is ideally suited to our needs," said university president, Father James Shea when making the announcement in early February.
This marks another step toward the realization of U-Mary's historic initiative. The program will feature specialized courses in the liberal arts, covering topics such as history, theology, art, architecture and music. Students will be afforded an in-depth experience of the city of Rome, with all of its ancient and Christian heritage. This enriching and unforgettable learning experience will be the only one of its kind offered by a North Dakota college and one of only a handful of such programs available across the United States. more>>
