Prayer Day 2011 To Feature One-Man,
One-Act Play, 'Dodging Bullets'
This year's Prayer Day keynote presentation will be a play about forgiveness and redemption, written and performed by David Barker. "Dodging Bullets," a compelling theatrical reenactment of Barker's brother-in-law's attempt at killing him and his sister, in which Barker plays 10 different roles, will be presented Thursday, Feb. 3, in McDowell Activity Center.

Come in from out of the cold and celebrate 38 years of jazz with the hottest ticket in town, as the University of Mary presents its annual salute to jazz, Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at 8 p.m., in the Bismarck Civic Center arena. In addition to the University of Mary Jazz Ensemble and University of Mary Vocal Jazz, this year's UMJF Concert will feature a stellar array of guest artists, including
Jeff Coffin; saxophonist;
Tom Giampietro, drums;
Vladan Milenkovic, piano;
Vijay Singh, vocalist; and
Michele Weir, vocalist. Tickets for the Friday night Festival Concert are $10 and can be purchased through the U-Mary Music Department (701-355-8301), Eckroth Music, or Lee's Hallmark at Kirkwood Mall.

Fargo Area Alumni Gather To Cheer On The Marauders & Catch Up With Friends, Saturday, Jan. 8. (Note Date & Time Change!)
Saturday, Jan. 8, the Marauders take on Minnesota State-Moorhead at Nemzek Fieldhouse. The women play at 2 p.m., and the men at 4 p.m.—and you're invited! Between games and at halftime at the men's game, there will be a social in Nemzek Hall, with food, beverages, and drawings for Marauders apparel. Spring 2011 Convocation Series Kicks Off Jan. 13
In the university's first spring 2011 convocation "Beyond the Smoke," members of the U-Mary Health PRO organization will shed light on the unknown effects of tobacco. And on Thursday, Jan. 20, Marauders athletes will share their experiences and insights gained from volunteering. Other offerings this semester will range from discussions of poverty and business ethics to performances of Irish literature, a vocal master class and concert by a Broadway vocal coach, and the 2nd annual U-Mary Poetry Slam. Featuring events and performances by visiting authors, artists, and widely recognized authorities from a range of fields, as well as presentations by faculty and students, University of Mary convocations are free and open to the public. Demonstrating once again why he is considered one of the top players in the nation, University of Mary guard Anthony Moody was named the Northern Sun Men's Basketball Player of the Week after a brilliant 30 point performance in a win over Bemidji State that capped a tremendous individual weekend as the Marauders claimed two decisive NSIC wins.
