Katherine (Katie) Mehrer graduated from Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ with her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a Public Relations/Journalism Concentration. She received her M.A. in Education with a College Student Personnel Administration concentration from Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ. Katie joined in the University of Mary Student Success Center in October 2012 as an Academic Advisor, and has served as the Director of Academic Advising and First-Year Experience from 2013-2017. She became the Assistant Director of the Student Success Center at the start of the 2017 academic year and is currently serving in that role. Prior to that, she held positions as a Student Development Specialist at Montclair State University in Montclair, NJ, Business Challenge Coordinator at Dickinson State University in Dickinson, ND, and as an Advertising Consultant. Katie brings experience in higher education that includes academic advising, event coordinating, first-year experience, Greek life, and student activities, as well as experience in advertising, public relations and marketing.

Veronica Schaefbauer graduated from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies Education as well as in Social & Behavioral Science with a minor in Speech. Veronica serves as an Academic Advisor in the Student Success Center and for the University Studies program. She is also the Liaison to the School of Arts and Sciences. During her undergraduate studies, Veronica was very active in campus activities and organizations. She was involved in the Emerging Leaders Academy, SPURS, Marauders on Politics, Student North Dakota United, Vera Forma, a FOCUS Bible Study, and more. She also served as a peer leader in 2014 and as a peer team leader in 2015 and 2016. Veronica was a peer tutor for the Student Success Center from 2014-2016. One of her biggest accomplishments was receiving the Presidential Student Leadership Award in 2016 in recognition of her outstanding leadership. Veronica is passionate about serving others and carrying out the University of Mary’s mission.

Travis Hendrickson graduated from Northland College in Ashland, WI with his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and a Minor in Coaching. He received his Masters of Science in Education in Sports Performance and Leadership from Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD. Travis has been in his role as Academic Advisor and Liaison to Health Sciences and Athletics at University of Mary since August 2015. Prior to serving at the University of Mary, he held positions at Northern State University and at Presentation College (SD). At Northern State, Travis was a Graduate Assistant in the Education Department, as well as a Resident Assistant in the Residence Life Department. During his time at Presentation College, he served as an Assistant Baseball Coach. Travis has over three years of experience in higher education that includes academic advising, coaching, administrative, and teaching experience. He enjoys helping students accomplish their goals and experience success in their academics and personal lives. Travis is passionate about serving and advising student-athletes and also serves as an Assistant Baseball Coach at the University of Mary.

Kelsey Lindskov is a graduate of the University of South Dakota where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Criminal Justice, and her Master’s degree in Communication Studies. Kelsey holds the title of Academic Advisor and Tutor Coordinator here at the University of Mary. Prior to serving at the University of Mary, Kelsey gained experience as a Resident Assistant, a Team Leader for South Dakota’s Governor’s Camp for Gifted Education, Summer Bridge Hall Director, a Graduate Teaching Assistant for public speaking, and worked for the Crazy Horse summer program. Kelsey is passionate about higher education and helping students succeed.
