Jeremy W. Skrzypek, PhD
Current Position: Assistant Professor of Philosophy, University of Mary, Bismarck, ND.
Dr. Jeremy Skrzypek received his B.A. in philosophy from the State University of New York at Buffalo, his M.A. in philosophy from the University of Saskatchewan, and his Ph.D. in philosophy from Saint Louis University (2016).
His main areas of research are metaphysics and medieval philosophy, and he also has some significant interest in the philosophy of religion, ancient philosophy, early modern philosophy, and ethics. He wrote his dissertation on hylomorphism, the theory that material objects are comprised of both matter and form, and he continues to think and write about how best to understand and apply this theory.
At the University of Mary, he aims to inspire in his students an appreciation for philosophical questions, and to teach them how to think carefully and critically about important issues.
Outside of the classroom, Jeremy enjoys camping, hiking, canoeing, and watching science-fiction movies with his wife, Cristina.
