Serving as a link between the Leach Field House and University Hall, the upper level is the location of Chick’s Place which includes a snack bar, beverage bar, and DJ booth area. Overlooking and offering a panoramic view of the Missouri River and Apple Creek lowlands, Chick’s Place Snack Bar offers burgers, fries, sandwiches, wraps, salads, beverages and Wi-Fi. Academic year hours on Monday through Thursday are from 11:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., on Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Block meals not redeemed in a dining center may be exchanged for a meal on the Exchange Meal Menu at Chick’s Place from 7:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. Chick’s Place Snack Bar is named in recognition of Charles “Chick” Swenson, a neighboring farmer who donated the first 40 acres to the Benedictine Sisters as they prepared to build their motherhouse in the 1950’s. This acreage donated by Chick Swenson was known as “Gift Hill” until leveled in the 1990’s for campus construction.
