1. How do I get a University of Mary e-mail account?
All students registered at the University of Mary automatically get a U-Mary e-mail account. You will receive your e-mail information at student verification.

2. Do you have computer labs available for students?
Yes, we have several large computer labs across campus, plus smaller labs in all residence halls.

3. How do I log in and use my.umary.edu?
During student verification, you will receive a card that has your my.umary.edu ID and password. Once logged in, choose the Student tab and then choose the Student Resources on the left-hand side to view the Student Guide posted for your convenience.

4. Do I need to bring my own computer and printer to campus?
It is recommended that you bring your own computer and printer, but it is not necessary. We have several computer labs on campus with printers for student use.

5. Do I need a notebook or a desktop computer?
The choice is dictated by your personal preference.

6. Do I need a new computer?
No, click recommended requirements for information.

7. What operating system do you recommend?
Any version of Microsoft Windows XP or Vista will work fine. Click recommended requirements for information.

8. Do I need any other software?
If you are going to use your own computer, we recommend that you have Microsoft Word and antivirus software. Click here for other recommended software.

NOTE:
It is important that student computers have antivirus software installed, and that students know how to keep their antivirus software up to date. (Student broadcast of virus e-mails may lead to their computers being disconnected from our campus network.)

9. How do I get my computer connected?
Click Internet Access for more information.

10. How do I get wireless access on my laptop?

Click Internet Access for more information.

11. What about support?

The university is responsible for providing broadband Internet access from each room for each individual. Students are responsible for their own computers, peripherals, and patch cables that connect to the Internet port. Please refer to the recommended requirements for a list of items for which the student is responsible.
