For five weeks each summer, from the beginning of June to mid-July, the students live in the residence halls on the University of Mary campus. During the summer residential program, participants take academic enrichment courses with an emphasis on English, mathematics, science, study skills, reading, and writing. The students are tested to determine strengths and areas of needed improvement. Individual, career, and group counseling are an important element of the program.
Students learn about college life through the residential experience. Students are involved in evening activities and learn to live in a community with their peers, just like college students!
As a part of the summer program, faculty and staff coordinate cultural enrichment trips, student leadership, service learning, career internship and recreational activities where students use classroom knowledge in real-life settings.
