North Hall's "L"-shaped design includes a women's wing and a men's wing that make up north U-Mary's only co-ed residence hall for freshmen. Most student rooms are doubles with a limited number of singles for upper-level students; however, there are also few triples and quads. Each student has his/her own bed, dresser, desk, and closet, and each room has a sink and medicine cabinet for residents to share.

North Hall residents can get to several campus facilities without having to go outside including: University Hall (the location of the U-Mary Bookstore, the Marauder Cove Espresso Shop, and University Hall Cafeteria), the Harold Miller Science Center, the Clairmont Center for the Performing Arts, the Casey Center for Nursing Education, the Leach Center for Student Life and Field House, and the McDowell Activity Center.

Each student has his/her own port to connect to the university's free high-speed Internet service.

Free local phone service in each room (long-distance service requires a pre-paid card).

Free laundry facilities located on each floor. Student lounge areas with microwave oven, cable TV, kitchenettes and study areas. Two computer labs are also located in the hall.

Students who live in North Hall are required to participate in one of the following three meal plans.
