What if I spend all my Marauder Bucks and want more?

If you spend all of your Marauder Bucks before the semester ends, you may deposit additional debit card dollars to you account at anytime at the Mcard Office, located in Room 211, lower level of the Benedictine Center or the Mart.  Deposits are cash or check only. [Top]

What are Guest Meals?

The Convenience Meal Plan, the Flexible Meal Plan and the Maximum Meal Plan have 5 guest meals each.  These guest meals can be used for visiting parents, friends, and fellow students.  They can be used one at a time or all at one meal.  [Top]

What is Chick’s Place and when is it open?

Chick’s Place is a snack bar featuring a grill, hot and cold sandwiches, salads, soup, soft drinks, and other snacks. It is located in the Leach Center for Student Life. Adjacent is a beverage bar featuring coffee drinks, Italian sodas and smoothies. Chick’s Place is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and on weekends, from 1:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. [Top]

Why is there a requirement to purchase a meal plan?

Boniface Hall, Hillside Hall, Greg Butler Hall, and North Hall, are home to all first-year students (along with some upper-level students). These facilities were designed as traditional residence halls with community facilities. Individual kitchens were not included in the design. Instead, meals are offered in a community dining room. It is understood that all upper-level students who choose to reside in the traditional residence halls will participate in a meal plan. [Top]

What are Block Meals?

Block meals allow you to eat at University Hall or the Benedictine Cafeterias.  You receive a set number of meals per semester based on the plan you select.  All meals must be used in the semester as they do not carry over to the next semester and unused meals are not refundable.  Each time you dine, on meal is subtracted from your total block meal allowance.  You are allowed 1 breakfast, 1 lunch and 1 dinner per service period. [Top]

If I don't like my meal plan can I change it?

Yes!  You may change you plan without penalty anytime before the end of the second week of classes each semester.  A $30 charge will apply to any changes made thereafter.  Changes may be made at the Student Development Office located in Room 1209 in the Benedictine Center.  Changes will be billed on a prorated basis.
In the Fall the $30 fee will apply for changes made after September 9, 2008
In the Spring, the $30 will apply for changes made after January 20, 2009

What are the cafeteria meals like?

Each meal features a main entrée and variety of side dishes, beverages and desserts. Hot breakfast may be eggs and pancakes, French toast and sausage, and egg casserole or a hot breakfast sandwich. Fresh fruit, toast, cold cereal, sometimes hot cereal, milk, coffee, and juices are available. Lunches and suppers feature a salad bar, a soup, and a main entrée. In addition you may select bread, sandwich meat, fresh fruit, soft-serve ice cream (with cones or toppings), and either cookies, bars, pudding, or cake, and your choice of beverages. Weekend brunches may feature pancakes, French toast, bacon, sausage, pancakes, and scrambled eggs. You will find that the soups are often homemade, buns are often freshly baked, and because of the German-Russian influence in the region there will be homemade kneophla soup, fleishkiechla, kuchen, and occasionally, homemade apple dumplings. Contact the director of dietary services to discuss your needs. [Top]

What if I have classes over lunch period?

If you have classes through the entire lunch period, please let your admissions counselor or the Student Development Office know as soon as possible so we can revise your schedule to ensure that you have time to eat your noon meal. [Top]

What if I don’t eat breakfast?

If you are going to work off-campus, perhaps the best option is the Convenience Meal Plan.  However, you may need to make it a point to eat breakfast in order to eat all the meals to which you are entitled. [Top]

What if I will be working off-campus?

If you are going to work off-campus, perhaps the best option is the Basic Meal Plan that allows for up to 10 meals per week. However, you may need to make it a point to eat breakfast in order to eat all the meals to which you are entitled. [Top]

I tried to use my Mcard for a meal and it would not work, there was no information on the metallic strip.  What happened?

Do not put your Mcard in a pocket with your cell phone or expose your Mcard to a magnet.  It will erase all the information on your card, the lyric will not be able to read a swipe and you will have to purchase a new card for $10.00.  Do not let your Mcard go in the clothes dryer.  It will disfigure the card and will not read on the lyric.

How do I use the Mcard as a debit card?

To use the Mcard as a debit card, you will need to fill out an “Account Agreement” form.  Read this form carefully and save your copy for reference.  This form can be filled out at the Mcard office or at the Mart.  A minimum of $25.00 or in increments of $25.00, cash or check may be deposited to your account at any time during the semester.  Credit cards are not accepted at this time.

Where is the Mcard used?

The Mcard is used at the Benedictine Center cafeteria, University Hall cafeteria, Chick’s Place snack bar, Marauder Cove, the Mart, University Bookstore, and Welder Library.  It is required identification at a sporting event

I uderstand that the Mcard is used as a library card, how does this work?

The Mcard can be used to check out books at the Welder Library on campus, the Bismarck Library or the Mandan Library. Browse the Central Dakota Library Network's online catalog.
