Student Activities Committee (SAC) Positions

Student Activities Chair 

  • Attends and presides over SAC meetings
  • Meets weekly with the student activities coordinator and assists her/him with preparation of meeting agendas

 Subcommittee Chair Positions 

  1. Marauders Spirit subcommittee is responsible for promoting spirit by providing activities and opportunities for students and to the larger university community to get involved in promoting Marauders Pride.
  2. Coffee House subcommittee is responsible for planning a monthly event that offers students a stage on which to perform music, read poetry or share any other skill they may have.
  3. Dance subcommittee is responsible for planning and offering student dances throughout the year and offering students the opportunity for dance lessons and to learn about dance.
  4. Campus Events subcommittee is responsible for planning and executing a variety of events including open mike nights, appearances by musical groups, talent shows, entertainers, etc.
  5. Multicultural Activities subcommittee is responsible for programming designed to: (a) increase awareness among all students about cultural diversity and to help students develop a global perspective and (b) help students from culturally diverse backgrounds experience hospitality and make a successful adjustment to the University of Mary.
  6. Special Activities subcommittee is responsible for programming to: (a) increase student awareness about current issues with appropriate emphasis on Christian and Catholic perspectives with regard to these issues; (b) provide opportunities for cultural enrichment; and c) critically evaluate ideas and values promoted in popular culture.

All subcommittees are responsible for holding at least one event each month.
